Lulworth Cove
๐ Weymouth, Dorset
About This Place
Lulworth Cove is a very sheltered pebble beach in a remarkable, horseshoe shaped cove, formed around ten thousand years ago by erosion from the sea. It is one of the most iconic natural features on Englandโs south coast, drawing visitors for its unique geology, clear turquoise water, and stunning views. --> The beach is mostly shingle with patches of sand, and the water is usually very calm, making it a popular spot for swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking. The sheltered shape of the cove keeps waves to a minimum, and at high tide the water is deep enough for a good sea swim. Snorkelling is also popular along the rocks on either side. There is ample parking, a cafe, toilets and boat trips in summer to Durdle Door and Mupe Bay. Given the Lulworthโs iconic nature it does get busy down here during the holidays, throughout the year.
๐ก Our Take
Nestled in the picturesque county of Dorset, Lulworth Cove is a delightful dog-friendly beach where your furry friends are welcome year-round. Its pebbled shores are perfect for exploratory pups or larger dogs, offering plenty of space to roam free. With ample parking nearby, access is hassle-free, making it a smooth trip for anxious dogs who might prefer a quick entry and exit. Although there's no sandy stretch, the stunning views more than compensate. Ensure your pup stays hydrated; bring water as facilities aren't immediately adjacent. Lulworth Cove is an idyllic spot for adventurous canines and their loving owners.
