About This Place

This pebble and rock beach has some patches of sand and is backed by cliffs. The terrain can be difficult for those with mobility problems as the rocks are often quite slippery. --> Llantwit Major beach is popular with dog walkers and families who come here to hunt for crabs and other marine wildlife in the rockpools. There are also some fossils to be seen here among the strata of the cliff face. From the beach there are views across the Bristol Channel, towards Minehead and Exmoor. There is a free car park here and a beach cafΓ© selling food, drink and souvenirs, with a separate toilet block.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Llantwit Major Beach in Glamorgan is calling all dog lovers! This sandy beach welcomes dogs year-round, making it paw-fect for off-season zoomies. Parking is available nearby, though immediate facilities are limited, so pack accordingly. While the waves can be tempting, always supervise swimming, especially if your dog isn't a strong swimmer. The wide-open space makes it brilliant for big dogs needing a run, however, puppies may find the vastness a little overwhelming initially. For a happy dog, remember poop bags! A lovely beach for a relaxed dog-friendly day out. Happy tail wags guaranteed!
