Llanddona Beach
📍 Beaumaris, Gwynedd
About This Place
If you like your beaches long, sandy, and peaceful, Llanddona on Anglesey is something of a hidden gem. The approach road to the beach is very steep, and can be busy at times with passing traffic, pedestrians, and walkers, so take a note of suitable passing points as you go. The beach is in between Penmon and Benllech on the Anglesey coastal path, and there are pleasant short walks from here to Holy Well and Penmon Priory. --> There’s a shop and café, and the nearby town of Beaumaris is easily accessible. Basic toilet facilities are also available at this beach, which is popular with windsurfers and swimmers, as well as canoers and kayakers, although there is no lifeguard service. You’re also likely to encounter groups enjoying beach cricket and kite flying on this clean and quiet beach, with a forest at your back and stunning views of the coast. Between 1st May and 30th September dogs are not allowed on the western part of the beach, which has held Blue Flag status in previous years.
💡 Our Take
Fetch your towel, pups! DogParkUK highly recommends Llanddona Beach in Anglesey, Wales. Your furry friends are free to roam year-round on its expansive sandy shores - pawfect for zoomies! Parking is available nearby, although amenities are limited, so pack water. The gentle slope into the sea makes it ideal for dogs learning to swim, but always supervise them. Be mindful of currents. This wide open beach is perfect for big dogs and those who love to stretch their legs, but the openness also makes it suitable for timid dogs who like space. Remember to bag and bin, and enjoy the freedom!
