About This Place
The traditional seaside resort of Leysdown-on-sea is situated towards the eastern end of the Isle of Sheppey on Kentβs north coast. As a well established seaside town there are all the facilities you would expect; shops, cafes, amusements and the likes. --> The beach at Leysdown is a long stretch of coarse sand backed by a wide promenade and sea defences. Access is via steps and ramps which are suitable for less able visitors. As a winner of the Blue Flag award you can be sure of clean safe bathing, but this also means there is a dog ban in force. Leysdown is known for its nudist beach, however this is not the main beach. The popular naturist beach is situated around half a mile down the coast along Shellness Road - in fact the beach is also known as Shellness.
π‘ Our Take
Located in Kent, Leysdown Beach is a hidden gem for dog lovers, with dogs welcomed year-round. This sandy retreat is perfect for playful pups who love to dig and run freely. With ample parking nearby, itβs convenient for any quick escape to the coast. The water is generally safe for canine swims, making it ideal for adventurous dogs who love the water. However, be mindful of occasional jellyfish during the warmer months. It's particularly suited for big dogs and their owners seeking a less crowded spot. DogParkUK wholeheartedly recommends Leysdown Beach as a dog-friendly destination where tails wag happily!
