Lee Abbey Beach
π Lynton, Devon
About This Place
This shingle and rock beach is located just west of the popular Exmoor coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmouth. It is located within the grounds of the Lee Abbey Estate, hence the name. Whilst sometimes referred to as Lee Bay, this is a little confusing as there is another, better known beach of this name just along the coast at Woolacombe. --> The beach is easy to get to with a car park just above in the grounds of the Abbey. From here it is an easy walk the 200 metres or so down to the cove. Swimming is usually fine and the best times are at high and low tide, however be aware there may be strong currents further out. Towards low tide a good stretch of sand is exposed, whilst at higher tide there are a few patches to be found between the rocks. Lee Abbey Tea cottage is set in the woodland about 5 minutes walk from the beach. Open from April to November, cream teas and other light snacks / drinks are available.
π‘ Our Take
Lee Abbey Beach, nestled in the scenic county of Devon, is a must-visit for dog owners. Open to canine companions year-round, the soft sandy shores provide ample space for your furry friend to frolic and dig. The beach offers safety in swimming conditions, making it perfect for those big dogs who love splashing in the surf. Convenient parking nearby ensures hassle-free visits, though be cautious as facilities are limited. This serene spot is fantastic for puppies and anxious dogs seeking a quiet escape. At DogParkUK, we highly recommend this delightful retreat for quality time with your pet.
