About This Place
Set at the northern end of the Wirral Peninsula,Β Leasowe Bay is a wide, clean sandy beach. Backed by low-lying sand dunes and a hay meadow, the beach has a surprisingly wild feel. There are very little in way of facilities. --> Running along the length of the beach is a wide path and there are long sections of rock armour/sea defences. The path forms part of a longer circular route ideal for walking, cycling and even horsesCan be fine to swim when the tide is in and ideal for dog walking and horse riding when its out. At low tide a vast expanse of sand is revealed and it is a considerable walk to reach the water. However, care should be taken as the tide comes in very fast.Car parking is available at The Gunsite, the location of World War II gun emplacements. To either end of the beach are golf clubs - Leasowe and Wallasey. Overlooking the western end of Leasowe beach is Leasowe Castle. Built in the late 1500s the castle is now a hotel.
π‘ Our Take
Leasowe Bay, located in Wirral, is a hidden gem for dog owners. This picturesque, sandy beach allows dogs year-round, making it ideal for puppies or big dogs yearning for space. The fine sand is perfect for playful digging, and with no restrictions on access, your furry friends can frolic freely. Parking is convenient, but facilities are sparse, so pack essentials before arriving. While the gentle waves are generally safe, always monitor swimming due to occasional underwater currents. Leasowe Bay is a haven for anxious dogs seeking a tranquil environment, offering peace and plenty of room to explore.
