Landcombe Cove
π Dartmouth, Devon
About This Place
This isolated cove set between Slapton and Blackpool Sands is a great escape from the summer crowds, but also well hidden. Not only that, unless you have your own boat the climb down is fairly challenging. --> It is a lovely spot though; a generous curve of beach backed by high cliffs gives a feeling of seclusion. And on a sunny summerβs afternoon, when the water is azure and there are a few yachts anchored in the bay you can pretend you are on a more continental Riviera. To get to Lancombe you are best off taking the coast path from Strete just under a mile away. The alternative is to park up on the A379. Either way you will still have the steep descent to negotiate.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a Devon beach where your dog can frolic freely, year-round? Then Landcombe Cove is calling! While details are scarce, the lack of restrictions suggests a dog-friendly haven. We imagine sandy stretches perfect for paw prints. Parking might be limited, so arrive early, and remember to pack water for them. Given it's a cove, be mindful of currents when your furry friend takes a dip. Best for confident swimmers and active dogs who love exploring a new landscape. Our tip? Scout the tide times beforehand to maximize beach fun and avoid any surprises.
