About This Place

Ladram Bay is a sand and pebble beach, backed by impressive red Devonian sandstone cliffs. Just off the beach are two equally high, equally red stacks. --> The beach is suitable for watersports and safe for swimming swimming, but there is no lifeguard service. At the present time access to the beach can be a little challenging. Located around a mile from the village of Otterton the only road access to the beach is through the Ladram Bay Holiday Park. Over recent years the park have operated a residents only policy of access during the summer months. This makes getting to the beach all but impossible for all but the most determined, involving a jaunt along the South West Coast Path. From the park the beach is easily accessed via a slipway. The bay here is part of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South West Coast Path runs directly past the beach, along the Jurassic Coast, famous for its ancient rock formations and abundant fossils. Sidmouth, the nearest large town from the beach, is about 2 miles to the north, whilst the attractive beach and village of Budleigh Salterton is to the south.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Looking for a dog-friendly beach in the UK? We at DogParkUK wholeheartedly recommend Ladram Bay! While specific details are scarce, knowing dogs are welcome year-round makes it paw-some! Imagine frolicking on the sand with your furry friend, enjoying the fresh sea air. Sadly, we lack beach type/parking information, so research local facilities beforehand. Always check tide times for swim safety; it’s crucial for happy pups! Ladram Bay sounds excellent for energetic dogs needing a good run. Tip: Bring plenty of water, especially on warmer days. This spot is great for bigger dogs.
