About This Place
Kames Bay is a small, sand and shingle beach, offering pleasant views out over the Kyles of Bute; the rugged, mountainous countryside of the Isle of Bute and the surrounding area. --> The beach is backed by the picturesque village of Kames, which offers facilities including toilets, a hotel and pub which overlooks the bay, a village shop, and a post office. Along the beach there are two piers, and the area is popular for boating. Roadside parking next to the beach is possible. This area of coastline is wild and remote, and there are many footpaths along the shore, and in the surrounding hills, mountains, and forests for visitors to enjoy.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for an off-leash paradise? Kames Bay, Scotland, is a simple, sandy beach where dogs are welcome *all year round* β which is paw-some! The soft sand is perfect for zoomies and digging, and the shallow water makes it ideal for confident swimmers. While dedicated facilities are limited nearby, parking is available. The open bay means currents can be tricky, so keep a close eye on your pup. Kames Bay is best for energetic dogs who love a good run and a paddle. It can be a little exposed, so bring a windproof coat! We love it for simple, unrestricted fun.
