About This Place

Inverboyndie is a long, sandy beach to the east of the town of Banff, from where it can easily be reached on the coast path.  The beach is popular with walkers and swimmers, and is regarded as one of the best surfing beaches in north-eastern Scotland. --> Behind the small rocky slope which backs the beach there is a large grassy area with plenty picnic spots, a large children’s play area, toilets, and Banff Links Caravan Park. Behind this grassy area is a car park and Inverboyndie village. The footpath from Banff continues past the beach along the coast to the village of Whitehills. Like many spots along Scotland’s coast there is a fairly good chance of catching a glimpse of dolphins if you look out into the surf for long enough. Facilities such as shops, places to eat, and places to stay can be found in the town of Banff as well as a golf course, a museum, and Duff House; a grand Scottish home which is now open to the public as part of the National Gallery of Scotland.

💡 Our Take

Looking for a fantastic, unrestricted dog beach in Scotland? DogParkUK says head to Inverboyndie Beach! Your furry pal will adore zooming across the beautiful sandy stretch, and you'll love that dogs are welcome year-round. Parking is readily available, and there are some local facilities within a comfortable distance. Perfect for dogs who love a good splash, but be mindful of currents and waves before letting them swim. Remember to keep a close eye, especially if you're bringing puppies or smaller breeds. Our tip? Bring a long lead for off-lead exploring as there are no fences. Ideal for energetic dogs needing a good run!
