Hove’s well known beach is mostly shingle and runs adjacent to the centre of the town, which is part of the Brighton and Hove metropolis - apparently one of the sunniest places in the country.  --> The beach is interspersed by regular groynes and backed by a long esplanade with a cycle lane, as well as Hove Lawns, a grassy area, with many facilities including cafes, a bowling club, a tennis club, a leisure centre, an amusement arcade and crazy golf off St Aubyns Street. There is also a large lagoon here with a yachting club, an outdoor paddling pool, a skate park, and a large children’s play area.  Swimming is popular at the beach, as well as water sports such as surfing and sailing.  Along the promenade are plenty of beach huts, some of which are available for hire.  The closest parking from the beach can be found on Hove Street, with access to the beach down a slipway. This includes a number of disabled spaces. Beach wheelchairs are available for hire at Brighton and Hove Seafront Office to the east of the beach. Further parking can be found along Kingsway, the main road that is set back from the beach, towards Brighton Pier. The centre of Brighton, with all of the facilities of a large city, including a railway station with regular services into London, is about a mile to the east of the beach.

Hove Beach in Brighton and Hove is a fantastic, dog-friendly stretch! We at DogParkUK love its shingle beach, perfect for a good sniff. What makes it great is dogs are welcome year-round, off-lead. Parking is readily available along the seafront, and you'll find cafes nearby for a post-walk treat. While swimming is generally safe, do watch for strong currents. It’s great for pups, but consider a long lead for anxious dogs, especially during busy times! Our tip: Bring beach shoes, the pebbles can get hot! Definitely a happy place for your four-legged friends!
