About This Place

This beach in the East Riding of Yorkshire is mainly shingle and fine golden sand, and offers a classic traditional seaside experience. Flamborough Headland is visible to the north, while to the south the Holderness coast can be seen. The beach is either the start or the end of the Trans Pennine Trail, aimed at walkers, horse riders, and cyclists.ย  --> The charming promenade stretches the whole length of the seafront, with attractively landscaped gardens, plenty of parking, and old wooden breakwaters. Thereโ€™s a Victorian folly, and the location is popular for bird watching, canoeing, jet-skiing, kayaking, sailing, swimming or bathing, walking, and windsurfing. The beach is usually quiet - seals have been spotted here.ย There is a large public car park about a minute or so from the seafront and there are numerous shops and cafes nearby. Visitors should be aware that lifeguard services at this beach are often limited only to very high season. From 1 May to 30 September dogs are not allowed on this beach.

๐Ÿ’ก Our Take

Looking for a liberating seaside escape? Head to Hornsea Beach in East Yorkshire! This sandy expanse welcomes dogs all year round, making it perfect for off-season romps and summer swims. With no restrictions in place, your furry friend can truly stretch their legs. Parking is readily available nearby, and the townโ€™s amenities are just a short walk away. Swim safety is always important, so keep playful pups in sight. This vast beach is brilliant for energetic big dogs needing space, though keep an eye on excited puppies near the water โ€“ the North Sea can be unpredictable.
