Sitting on the border between Norfolk and Suffolk is this pleasant stretch of sandy beach. To the north is better-known Gorleston beach, while to the south the beach carries on in much the same vane, becoming Corton. --> The beach is backed by the Haven Hopton-on-Sea holiday park. Despite the beach never gets too busy, even mid-summer holidays. Perhaps the most notable feature of the beach are the sea defences. To keep the sand in place a number of wooden groynes punctuate the length of the beach. At the back of the beach is what is known as a revetment, which is in effect a wooden barrier to protect the cliffs from further erosion. Access is either via the set of steps that run between the golf course and holiday park, or the slope at the end of Beach Road to the south of the park.
