Holy Island (Lindisfarne) Beach
π Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland
About This Place
The Harbour beach on Holy Island is the easiest to get to being on the shoreward side of the island. The beach itself isnβt quite as pretty as the other expansive, sandy beaches in the area but there are great views of both 16th century Lindisfarne Castle and the medieval Priory. --> There are plenty of facilities close to the beach. Lindisfarne is a tidal island with access by a paved causeway which is covered at high tide. Therefore, if you are planning walking over and back youβll need to keep an eye on the tides.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a perfect dog beach in Northumberland? Holy Island (Lindisfarne) Beach is a fantastic year-round option! With miles of soft sand, itβs ideal for zoomies and relaxed strolls - dogs are welcome any time. Parking is available on the island, but can get busy, so arrive early. While the island has amenities, bring your own water just in case. The sea here can have strong currents, so keep a close eye on your dog, especially if they're keen swimmers. This beach is great for dogs of all sizes; but do consider your own dogs beach confidence level when its windy, it can make them anxious. We highly recommend it!
