About This Place
The secure dog walking at Hinton in the Hedges is a 2 acre, drive-in, grass paddock surrounded by a secure 6ft deer-type fence. It’s located a few miles from Brackley in Northamptonshire. The facility is drive-in through a 6ft gate and is very accessible for anyone who might struggle on rough ground. The parking area is a little rough underfoot with stone laid to avoid the more familiar mud you find in winter at many other fields. Reviewed in both summer and winter months, even during the wettest times it doesn’t get too muddy. The great thing about this field is that it’s flat – which means it’s fab for dogs (and humans) recovering from injury and those who prefer a flat out charge about! There is a dog bin, well positioned poo-bag dispensers and a water bowl – you will need to bring your own water as there’s no fresh water supply. There’s little else of interest in the field but a wanger and a ball will keep most dogs busy for the duration of a session. It’s a great training area too as the lack of distractions mean that recall training can be undertaken. Sessions are 30 minutes and 60 minutes and prices are based on both number of dogs you are taking and the session time. You receive the padlock code in the hour before your session so you need to make sure you have your phone on you if you are travelling any distance. There is a poorly positioned log seat that is up against the fence – certainly something our dog could easily use as platform to get straight over the fence. Something to watch for if you have large, bouncy breeds!
