Greenhill Beach (Weymouth)
π Weymouth, Dorset
About This Place
The mainly pebble beach of Greenhill lies in Weymouth Bay and is less crowded than the sandier beaches in the area. The beach is backed by a promenade which actually forms a section of the South West Coast Path. There are some lovely beach huts along the promenade, which makes a good place to come to stretch the legs while taking in the sea air. --> Between July and September two swimming rafts are usually to be found, anchored off the beach. People come here in summer to bathe, and there is a lifeguard in attendance in peak times, although swimmers need to be aware that the water here shelves quite suddenly in places. One of the main attractions of this beach is Greenhill Gardens, a park area which lies immediately behind the beach. The gardens here have some beautifully kept colourful borders, and offer four tennis courts, a putting green, toilets and a cafΓ©. These delightful gardens would make a good spot for a picnic. Weymouth itself is a traditional seaside resort with plenty of quirky shops, places to eat and amusements, including a Sealife Centre. The townβs many attractions make it a great destination for a family day out, especially during the summer months.
π‘ Our Take
Greenhill Beach in Weymouth, Dorset, is a delightful spot for dog owners. With dogs welcome year-round, it's ideal for those who love sandy shores. The gentle sand makes running easy for both small puppies and larger breeds, while the calm waters ensure safe swimming for pups eager to make a splash. On-site parking is available, with facilities conveniently close. However, be mindful of the occasional high tide that may limit sandy playtime. This beach is great for anxious dogs needing space, providing a serene escape. At DogParkUK, we love this spot for its easy-going atmosphere and canine-friendly amenities.
