About This Place

The sweeping sandy bay of Freshwater East is backed by sand dunes and sheltered by the headland of Trewent Point. This is one of the finest beaches on the Pembroke coast and has something for everyone. Itโ€™s a great family beach with conditions generally safe for swimming, although there is no lifeguard service. The beach is also dog friendly, so feel free to bring the whole family. --> At the southern end of the beach is a small stream which is always popular with the kids. The fact Freshwater East lacks a Blue Flag is testimony to the lack of development and commercialism. There are however enough facilities for most, with a nearby car park, shop, cafe and disabled toilets. In addition, the village is just a short walk away.Back in the old days Freshwaterโ€™s secluded beach made it a favourite with smugglers. These days it is popular for just about every other seaside pastime including surfing, kitesurfing and swimming along with divers and fishermen.

๐Ÿ’ก Our Take

We at DogParkUK recommend Freshwater East Beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales, for year-round doggy fun! Your furry friend can roam freely on the golden sands, perfect for zoomies no matter the season. The beach offers shallow waters great for paddling, just supervise swim safety during strong tides. Parking is available nearby, though facilities are limited, so bring water. This spacious beach suits even larger breeds or dogs needing a little more room to play. Consider bringing a long lead as it can get busy, especially during peak times. This makes it ideal for confident dogs to socialize.
