Foxton Beach
๐ Alnmouth, Northumberland
About This Place
Foxton beach lies just north of Alnmouth, beyond Marden Rocks. Stretching to Seaton point, youโll find a lovely stretch of golden sand here. Foxton beach is far quieter than its neighbour, somehow managing to remain under the radar, despite being equally lovely. --> The beach is backed by the Alnmouth Golf Club which has been based at Foxton Hall since 1929. Whether the beach is named after the hall or visa versa I couldnโt tell you. As the tide drops an expanse of flat sand is revealed along with rock pools on the outcrops at either end. Foxton beach made the news a few years back when a stone lined pit was discovered after a the cliffs were eroded. Initially the police were called in as it was thought these were graves. However, it turned out they were some kind of medieval fish storage tanks!
๐ก Our Take
Foxton Beach in Cambridgeshire is a year-round haven for dogs and their owners alike. With its expansive golden sands, pups of all sizes, from playful puppies to big, bounding breeds, can joyfully stretch their legs. There are no restrictions here, so you can leave worries at home. Parking is ample, although a tip: it can fill up quickly on sunny days, so arrive early to secure a spot. Though there are no direct facilities, nearby Foxton village provides charming stopovers. With gentle waves and shallow waters, itโs perfect for anxious dogs to safely splash around and enjoy the tranquil beachscape.
