About This Place

Fleetwood is actually the name of this charming seaside town in Lancashire that used to be a fishing port, although the name is also sometimes applied to the beach here. Technically however the beach in Fleetwood is called Marine Beach and you will find a fine stretch of sand here as well as pretty sand dunes. --> Marine beach is backed by a grassy promenade and part of the wider seafront area near Fleetwood’s Marine Hall and gardens. The beach lies just west of the mouth of the River Wyre The seafront area here has recently been renovated and has views across to Morecambe Bay where the low tide reveals a truly vast expanse of sand. On clear days the views across the bay extend to the hills of the Lake District beyond. Fleetwood was once home to a fine Edwardian era seaside pier. Sadly, the pier was closed in 2000 due to safety concerns and suffered significant damage in a fire in 2008. What remained was later demolished, and today, there is no physical trace of the original pier structure, though its history is still remembered locally.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

We at DogParkUK love Fleetwood Beach in Lancashire for its year-round dog-friendly access! Your furry pals can roam freely on the vast sandy expanse, perfect for zoomies and digging. Parking is readily available nearby, though facilities are limited, so bring your own water and poo bags. The shallow waters are great for paddling, but always supervise your dog, especially with the tides. Fleetwood Beach is ideal for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, especially those who love the sea. *Pro-tip: Check the tide times before your visit, as the beach shrinks significantly at high tide!* A pawsome spot for a seaside adventure.
