About This Place
Fidden beach is set in a sheltered bay on the west coast of the Isle of Mull. A mix of white, shell sand and pink granite outcrops this is probably the most popular (and best) beach on the island. --> At a glance, on a sunny day, you may be mistaken you were in the tropics; crystal clear azure water and fine white sand⦠however, a quick toe in the water will tell you otherwise! Fidden is home to a popular (summer) campsite that is practically on the beach. Fidden is a great place for spotting wildlife, particularly seals which can often be spotted basking on the rocks. You might also see geese, corncrake, various waders and even a mountain hare. This is also a wonderful spot to take in a sunset, with the last rays of the sun turning the granite almost red as it disappears behind Iona to the west.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a truly wild run with your canine companion? While we don't have the specific location details *yet*, Fidden Beach sounds like a stellar, restriction-free spot! Imagine year-round, unbridled joy for your dog on potentially sandy shores. Because it's rule-free, it suits dogs of all types! Nearest facilities may necessitate a bit of planning, especially for water. Always check tide times, as the beach may become submerged. This location is perfect for dogs that love to swim. Remember, keep an eye on the water conditions and supervise your dog closely, especially if they're not strong swimmers. ποΈ
