Felixstowe North Beach
📍 Felixstowe, Suffolk
About This Place
Felixstowe is a traditional Edwardian seaside resort between the Orwell and Deben rivers in Suffolk. The town benefits from a 4-mile stretch of beach, which slopes gently into the sea, along which there is a 2-mile-long promenade. --> The sea here is generally safe for swimming, and along with easy access and plenty of facilities Felixstowe’s North beach is ideal for families. The historic pier is undergoing significant redevelopment and is expected to re-open to the public in August 2017. The area north of the pier is known as North Beach and is mostly made up of pebble and shingle, being less sandy than the South Beach on the other side of the pier. There are plenty of footpaths and cycle tracks in the area.
💡 Our Take
DogParkUK loves Felixstowe North Beach, Suffolk, for its year-round dog-friendly policy! This sandy beach offers ample space for furry friends to run free without seasonal restrictions. Parking’s readily available, and the town of Felixstowe is nearby for facilities. While shallow, always supervise dogs near the water, especially strong swimmers as currents can change. Be mindful of the tide times! Felixstowe's gentle waves and wide-open space make it ideal for puppies learning to swim and big dogs needing a good run. Its open nature is also great for anxious dogs that need space. Remember dog waste bags! We recommend it!
