Fairlight Glen Beach
๐ Hastings, East Sussex
About This Place
Fairlight Glen is a popular naturist beach, also enjoyed by non-naturist visitors.ย It is found in a suitably secluded location overlooking Covehurst Bay a mile or so east of Hastings. Whilst people do swim here, bear in mind that there are hidden rocks submerged in the surf and that there is no lifeguard service. --> The nearest car park from the beach is at the Hastings Country Park Visitor Centre, where there are also toilets, cafรฉ and an information centre, about a 20 minute walk from the beach along a fairly steep and somewhat hazardous path. Alternately, the beach can be walked too from Hastings along a cliff-top path but this does not avoid the climb down.Once youโve reached Fairlight Glen keep an eye on the tide times - there is only the one path up on to the cliff top, so donโt wander too far along the beach if the tide is coming in!The Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve, a designated Special Area of Conservation, which backs the beach, is popular with walkers. It is also an excellent place for getting closer to nature, as there are plenty of lovely wild flowers to be seen here in spring and summer, and many interesting species of bird migrate here in the spring and autumn.
๐ก Our Take
Looking for off-lead freedom? DogParkUK loves Fairlight Glen Beach! Located on the Sussex coast near Hastings, it's dog-friendly all year, offering vast sandy stretches. Perfect for zoomies! Parking is limited in the area, so arrive early! While mostly sandy, watch for occasional rocky sections, but it's generally safe for swimming. Note that there are no dedicated facilities directly on the beach, so bring water. This is a fantastic spot for energetic dogs and those who love a good run, but perhaps less suited for very young puppies due to the length of the beach.
