About This Place

Elender Cove lies just shy of the most southerly headland in Devon, Prawle Point. The lovely, sandy little beach here is well and truly nestled among the rugged cliffs of this little-explored area of the South Hams. --> Something of a hidden gem, Elender Cove is all but invisible when the tide is in. However, as the tide drops away a beautiful expanse of golden sand is revealed. With turquoise waters and greenery covered cliffs this is one of the prettiest beaches on this stunning section of coast. Not far from the yachty havens of Salcombe and Dartmouth, you will often see boats anchored here. In fact this is one of the easiest ways to get to Elender Cove; via land it is a bit of a walk from the nearest parking at East Prawle followed by a bit of scramble down the cliff path.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Looking for an unspoilt, dog-friendly beach in the UK? We at DogParkUK recommend Elender Cove - a hidden gem! Your furry friends can enjoy this beach year-round with unrestricted access! While we don’t have a description, unrestricted access means dogs can play freely on potentially sandy shores, perfect for pups who love to dig. Remember to bring water and poop bags, as nearby facilities might be limited. Its remoteness makes it ideal for dogs that are easily overwhelmed or have recall issues. Always be mindful of tides and potential currents, especially with smaller dogs.
