About This Place

Located between the ever popular Viking Bay and Stone Bay is East Cliff - so named because of the low chalk cliffs here. At most tides you can easily walk along the beach to Stone Bay to the north. However the harbour wall prevents the sands of Viking Bay and East Cliff joining up. --> The beach here is sandy with flat rocks around the low water mark. These are home to plenty of rock pools. The cliffs provide shelter from the wind, and the coastal path above gives good views across the sea and along the Thanet coast. It’s a popular spot with locals and dog walkers, especially outside the main summer season. Running along the back of the beach is a promenade linking Broadstairs’ main beaches. It is also home to some colourful beach huts.
