About This Place

This small beach lies on the Durham Heritage Coast, approximately mid-way between Sunderland and Hartlepool. The terrain is a mixture of sand and shingle and the beach is backed by cliffs and dunes. There are views from the beach along the rocky coastline and out towards the North Sea. The beach, which is usually fairly quiet, is used by sea anglers and fossil hunters. --> Access to the beach from the car park is via a set of steps which wind gently down the cliffs. The England Coastal Path runs nearby and there are a choice of walks in the area. The former mining town of Easington Colliery lies beyond the cliffs on the other side of the coast road. Some scenes from the film Billy Elliot were shot here, using 400 locals as extras.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Easington Beach, located in the charming East Riding of Yorkshire, is a fantastic year-round dog-friendly haven! The sandy shores provide ample space for zoomies and digging. Parking is available nearby, though amenities are limited, so pack water. It is a safe area but be careful of the tide. This beach is ideal for dogs who love to run, big or small, but keep a close eye on puppies near the water. We adore this dog paradise – your furry friend will thank you for it!
