About This Place
This beach forms part of a long stretch of sand and shingle backed by a wide sea-wall, which it is possible to walk along. As you head North-East, the beach becomes quite narrow.Β --> Martello Tower (number 24) overlooks this stretch of the beach.Β This once formed part of the military defences built to defend the south coast from a possible Napoleonic invasion.Β The invasion never happened.Β Today this particular tower has been converted for use as a private residence. Romney Marsh is not far from the beach and young visitors will enjoy taking a ride on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, which runs steam/diesel locomotives along a 13.5 mile stretch of coastline here.
π‘ Our Take
Dymchurch Beach in Kent is a fantastic spot for dog owners year-round, offering a vast expanse of firm, sandy shores perfect for energetic pups to play and run freely. With no restrictions, it's particularly great for big dogs that need space to roam. Enjoy the convenience of nearby parking and facilities, though do be cautious of tides as they can rise quickly, ensuring a watchful eye during swim time. Best for confident swimmers and those who love a splash, Dymchurch provides a safe, welcoming environment for both beach-loving dogs and their owners. A true sandy haven for our four-legged friends!
