West of Bournemouth pier, Durley Chine is often thought of as one of the best beaches in town, around 10 minutes’ walk from the more central beaches. Its clean water, golden sands, and easy access to baby changing stations, RNLI services during the summer season, ice cream kiosk, and lost children’s centres, make it a popular family choice.  --> The beach is mainly sand with some shingle, and shelves gently into the sea. The sands back onto attractive woodland.  In clear weather, there are views of Old Harry’s Rocks and the Isle of Wight. Dogs are only allowed on certain sections of Bournemouth beaches all year round, and should always be on leads on the cliff and zigzag paths and the promenade. Other restrictions apply to skateboarding, skating, and cycling on the promenade, as well as to e-scooters and barbecues.Durley Chine Car Park is right next to the beach, with 131 spaces, including seven accessible bays. It can be reached via a gentle walk through Middle Chine, along the promenade, or the sloping car park just off West Overcliff Drive.  Next to the Beach Office there is an accessible toilet with RADAR key access. There are deckchairs and bright and cheery beach huts available to rent throughout the year - ask for details at the local beach office.The beach is a popular location for wind surfing, water skiing, surfing, swimming and bathing, sailing, jet-skiing, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking.

Watch out for tide times, as the beach can shrink considerably at high tide!
