About This Place
A remote sand and shingle beach backed by the dunes, heathland and lagoons of the National Trust owned Dunwich Heath. The area is also home to RSPB Minsmere and is home to a range of interesting wildlife such as the Dartford warbler, nightjar, woodlark, red deer, adders and ant-lion. --> Dunwich Heath is more than just a nature reserve though; it is a good family beach. Towards mid tide there is a good deal of sand revealed which is ideal for digging or running around on. As well as all the opportunities for exploring the heath provides there are facilities provided at the National Trust tearooms. It is also a dog friendly beach with dogs welcome all year.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a truly dog-friendly escape? DogParkUK recommends Dunwich Heath Beach in Suffolk! This stunning stretch welcomes dogs year-round with no restrictions, making it paw-fect for any season. While details are limited, imagine vast sandy expanses ideal for zoomies. Parking's available nearby, but confirm before you travel. Remember there are no details on nearby facilities. We would note Swim safety is unknown, so keep pups close, especially those new to the sea. We can't say what type of beach it is until more details are available so do your research! Dunwich Heath is ideal for calm dogs who love exploring or a dog that loves the long walks and sniffing, as we have noticed there are lots of lovely smells for dogs there!
