About This Place

Dunglass has a rural shingle and rock beach backed by grassy slopes and low rise cliffs.  The Dunglass Burn enters the sea close by, after winding its way through a steep, wooded gorge. --> There are some interesting rock formations around the beach, including some sandstone arches to be found towards Bilsdean.  The area is popular with walkers as the 134 mile-long John Muir Way Path, which links Edinburgh to the Scottish Borders passes along a section of the beach.To the north lies Torness Power Station.This part of the coastline is a good place to see wildfowl and waders, including redshank and curlew.
