About This Place
Cruden Bay stretches along the Grampian coastline for approximately 2 miles and is home to a wide, golden, sandy beach. It is a popular place to swim, there is even an electronic board detailing the current water quality. Water sports are also popular on the beach, which often attracts surfers. --> The small village and harbour of Cruden Bay can be found at the northern end of the beach. Parking is available either by the harbour or in the village centre. The beach can be reached from the village across a small pedestrian bridge over the river mouth which separates it. The area is very popular with golf enthusiasts and the beach is backed by Cruden Bay Golf Club. To the north of the beach, visitors will find the ruins of Slains Castle on a cliff top overlooking the sea below.
π‘ Our Take
Cruden Bay beach in Aberdeenshire is a real treat for your four-legged friend! Dogs are welcome all year round to enjoy the wide expanse of golden, soft sand. Parking is available nearby, though immediate beachside facilities are limited, so pack accordingly. The water can have strong currents, so supervise your adventurous pups. Cruden Bay's vastness makes it ideal for dogs who love a good run and those bigger breeds needing room to stretch. It's truly best for dogs who love to be off-lead - just be mindful of nesting birds during the breeding season. Enjoy!
