About This Place

This lovely rural beach lies on the Ayrshire coast between Maidens and Dunure. The beach at Croy is sandy with rocky outcrops.Β  --> The area is popular with walkers and the Ayrshire Coastal Path passes close by.Β  The mile-long beach is backed by grassy areas, with low-rise cliffs at one end, behind which can be seen the rolling hills of Ayrshire. There are views from the beach out over the Firth of Clyde towards the Isle of Arran. The north end of the beach, closest to the car park can get quite busy at the height of the holiday season.Β  Toilets can be found here here but no shops so it might be a good idea to bring a picnic. Some visitors bring portable barbecues.Β  There are plenty of holiday parks and caravan sites in the area. To the south of the beach, Culzean Castle, now in the ownership of the National Trust of Scotland, towers above the cliffs and adds a bit of glamour to the natural beauty of this part of the coastline.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Croy Beach is a lovely sandy paw-radise in Devon, perfect for dogs year-round! With no restrictions, pups can roam freely and enjoy the soft sand. Parking is generally available, but we recommend arriving early, especially during peak season. Sadly, info on nearest amenities and swim safety isn’t available, so we advise extra caution near the water. Bring your own water and poo bags! Croy is fantastic for energetic dogs needing space to run, but may require extra vigilance for smaller breeds near the waves. Enjoy your trip to Croy, we know your furry friends will!
