About This Place

Colwyn Bay is one of North Wales’ classic Victorian seaside resorts. Still popular, it has however lost some of its sparkle over the years. The good news though is this is a resort that is working hard to reinvent itself and recreate that heyday. --> In recent years the beachfront at Colwyn Bay has been transformed with the multimillion pound Porth Eirias (β€˜Park by the sea’) waterside development. This features a watersports centre, shops and restaurant. The beach itself is the whole reason the resort exists in the first place. A generous stretch of fine golden sand backed by a seawall and promenade. As you would expect from a Blue Flag beach there are no shortage of facilities along the beachfront or in the town, which is only a few minutes walk away. Recently the original Victoria Pier, which dated back to the turn of the century, has been partly rebuilt in a much simpler, shorter form. The new pier retains much of the ornate metalwork of the old one, and it is hope that at some point in the future it will be further extended. Nearby attractions include Eirias park, and the Welsh Mountain zoo.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Okay, here's your 100-word summary: Looking for a dog-friendly Welsh escape? Colwyn Bay, in Conwy, welcomes furry friends all year round! The sandy beach is perfect for playful pups and gentle strolls. Parking is available nearby, making access easy, and you'll find cafes and shops a short walk away in the town. The sea is generally calm, great for dogs learning to swim. Perfect for energetic dogs needing space to run! Keep a close eye on the tides, though, as the sea can come in quickly. Colwyn Bay is a wonderful choice for a dog-friendly day out by the sea!
