Coatham Beach (Redcar)
๐ Redcar, Yorkshire
About This Place
Coatham is a stretch of sandy beach not far from Redcar town. It is a popular spot for watersports such as windsurfing, kite surfing and surfing. The beach is bordered to the north by the mouth of the river Tees and at the southern end, Redcar. --> Much of the beach is backed by sand dunes and the Cleveland Golf Links course. A little further along the Warrenby steelworks creates a rather industrial backdrop. ย The beach has a large car park along Majuba Road, next to R-kade Skate Park. There are also toilets located here. This parking has direct access to the beach. Closer to Redcar town centre, there is an esplanade alongside the beach and some roadside parking.ย There is also a cinema and a number of shops and places to eat and drink. The town itself boasts a museum containing the worldโs oldest surviving lifeboat and Redcar Central railway station, a few hundred meters from the beach, on the Tees Valley Line between Saltburn to the east and Middlesbrough, Darlington, and Bishop Auckland to the west.
๐ก Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach in North Yorkshire? Coatham Beach in Redcar is fab! Dogs are welcome year-round, making it perfect for off-season zoomies. The sand is lovely for paws, though be warned, it can get quite windy! Parking is readily available, but be sure to check for charges. Whilst lifeguard services patrol during summer, swim safety is always paramount. The nearest facilities are a short walk away in Redcar town centre. Coatham Beach is ideal for confident dogs who love plenty of space to run and chase balls. Keep an eye on tide timesโa low tide means even MORE space for fun!
