Climping Beach
π Littlehampton, Sussex
About This Place
Climping beach is a quiet rural beach located about halfway Littlehampton and Bognor. Like many of the beaches along this stretch of the Sussex coast it is made up of shingle and pebbles held in place by a series of wooden groynes. As the tide goes out a vast expanse of sand is exposed. --> Unlike the popular town beaches nearby, Climping (or Atherington) Beach is backed by low sand dunes and fields. Much of this area is now protected, being designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). This means the sand dunes are fenced off to prevent further erosion in many places. One of Climpingβs claims to fame is it was used as a location in a couple of episodes of Doctor Who in the 60s and 70s.
π‘ Our Take
Climping Beach in West Sussex is a year-round dog-friendly haven with breathtaking sand and shingle stretches. This serene spot is perfect for all dogs, especially energetic breeds and curious puppies due to its ample space to roam. There are no restrictions, so your furry friend can frolic freely. Nearby parking ensures a hassle-free trip, but note that facilities are limited, so plan accordingly. Swimming is generally safe, but be aware of occasional strong currents. Climping Beach is ideal for socializing dogs that love long walks. Enjoy a memorable day out with your beloved pet, surrounded by natural beauty.
