About This Place

Claonaig is probably best known as the place you catch the ferry over to the Isle of Arran during the summer months. --> Set on the east coast of the Kintyre peninsula, Claonaig beach’s crescent of coarse sand and rocks is sheltered from the prevailing winds and swell. There isn’t a great deal here except the ferry terminal (more like a bus shelter) to one end and a river at the far end of the beach.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Looking for a dog-friendly escape? While this beach's description is unavailable, *we* recommend packing your bags for an adventure! Many UK coastal spots welcome well behaved doggy visitors. Keep your eyes peeled for sandy stretches, perfect for digging, and shallow waters ideal for playful pups learning to swim. Parking can be tricky, so arrive early! Nearest facilities are probably a drive, so pack water. Perfect for zoomies if your dog loves open space, do remember even dogs who like to swim can tire quickly in the sea - watch them carefully! Let us know if you check it out!
