Chapel Porth Beach
📍 Redruth, Cornwall
About This Place
Set at the end of a long deep valley in the heart of Cornwall’s mining country is Chapel Porth beach. Located between Porthtowan and St Agnes this lovely Cornish beach can be a little tricky to find - and that’s the way the locals like it! --> Chapel Porth is managed by the National Trust who run the car park and the small cafe here. The cliffs here are home to what is probably Cornwall’s most iconic old mining ruins,Wheal Coates. At very low tides Chapel Porth and neighbouring Porthtowan beaches join up. However, be very careful if you do walk across as there is only a small window of opportunity and the sand is backed by steep cliffs. As with other beaches along this stretch of the north coast the surfing at Chapel Porth is very good.
💡 Our Take
DogParkUK recommends Chapel Porth beach for Cornish canine adventures! This sandy haven welcomes dogs year-round with no restrictions, making it ideal for spontaneous seaside fun. Parking is available nearby, and whilst facilities are limited, quaint village amenities are a short walk away. Swim safe though - be mindful of currents, especially with excitable pups. Chapel Porth is fantastic for seasoned swimmers and dogs who love open spaces. Our tip? Check tide times before you go, as the sandy expanse disappears at high tide! Perfect for big dogs who enjoy a run and a splash.
