About This Place

If there is one beach I can remember from my childhood holidays in Anglesey it’s Cemaes Bay. This is the kind of beach that has everything a small (or big) child could ever want. There’s plenty of sand, and it’s the kind that’s perfect for sand castles. There are rock pools a plenty and even a promenade if you’re too grown up for rock-pooling. --> What Cemaes didn’t have those many years ago was the St Patrick’s Bell. Installed in 2014 this bell on legs is set to chime on the high tide. There are actually two beaches at Cemaes; this one, Traeth Mawr which means “big beach”, and another,  Traeth Bach, just around from the harbour. Both beaches are overlooked by the little town of Cemaes which has all the facilities you’ll need for a day at the beach.

💡 Our Take

Looking for a fuss-free beach day with your furry best friend? Head to Cemaes Bay, Anglesey! We love that dogs are welcome all year round on this sandy beach. Parking is close by, making it easy to unload. While we don't have details on facilities, the village isn't far for supplies. Remember to check tide times; low tide offers more space to roam. Swim safety information isn't readily available, so keep a close watch on your dogs, especially strong swimmers. Cemaes Bay is great for dogs of all sizes, particularly good for puppies getting used to the sea since the open beach has good visibility.
