About This Place
This small pebble and sand beach is one of a number of hidden coves on the shore of the Yealm Estuary. --> The name of the beach goes back many centuries to a time when the local farmers would also have a fishing boat. The βcellarsβ were the stores used to put their equipment in.These days there isnβt much fishing going on at Cellar beach but the area is known for oysters instead. The area just off the shore is also home to sea horses which live among the beds of seagrass. The nearest parking is in Noss Mayo which is a very pleasant 30 minute, riverside walk away. The village is also where you will find any facilities.
π‘ Our Take
Nestled in the picturesque Devon coast, Cellar Beach is a delightful haven for dogs year-round. With its smooth, sandy shores perfect for sandy pawprints, it's a joy for both playful puppies and boisterous big dogs. The tranquil waters are inviting, yet swimming safety should be prioritized, keeping your furry friend in shallow areas. Nearby parking is scarce, so an early arrival is advised to secure a spot. Without restrictions, anxious dogs can relish the freedom and space to roam. We at DogParkUK love recommending this unspoiled gem, ensuring a memorable day for you and your devoted canine companion.
