About This Place
Carradale is a charming, sandy beach that faces south into a small bay, separated from Kilbrannan Sound by Carradale Point headland. The beach offers excellent views of the surrounding mountainous countryside of the Kintyre Peninsular and the Isle of Arran.Β At low tide a vast expanse of sand is revealed, although the beach is mostly covered when the tide comes in. --> At the western end of the beach is the mouth of the River Carradale, next to a holiday park that overlooks the beach. The river is popular in the summer months for salmon and trout fishing. At the eastern end of the beach, a small stream flows over the beach into the bay. There are plenty of marked walks in the area around the beach. Carradale Point at the eastern end of the beach is a nature reserve where feral goats can sometimes be seen. The village and fishing harbour of Carradale, about half a mile from the beach, offers facilities such as parking, places to eat, and places to stay.
π‘ Our Take

The expansive beach is perfect for playful pups and big dogs to stretch their legs, while shy, anxious dogs enjoy the calming environment. With plenty of free parking nearby, its golden sands and gentle waves make splashing around safe and enjoyable. However, be cautious of the tides which can shift rapidly.
