Carlyon Bay
๐ St Austell, Cornwall
About This Place
Carlyon Bay is a popular beach consisting of almost two miles of coarse sand. --> The bay is sometimes regarded as three separate beaches; Crinnis, Shorthorn and Polgaver. Crinnis is the main beach whilst Polgaver, at the far end, was Cornwallโs first official nudist beach. However, it seems over recent years naturism appears to be no more at Carlyon Bay.Located just outside St Austell the bay here has had a number of proposed developments over the years, most of which have not amounted to anything. There is car parking above the beach with steps (or steep road) down to the beach.
๐ก Our Take
Carlyon Bay in Cornwall is a dog-friendly haven, with golden sands perfect for a day out with furry friends. Dogs are allowed year-round, making it an ideal spot for romping and fetching. The vast expanse of beach is especially great for big dogs needing space and energetic puppies keen to explore. With ample parking nearby, it's a hassle-free experience. Facilities are not directly on the beach, so pack essentials for your pooch's comfort. While generally safe for swimming, always keep an eye on the tide. We love how open and inviting it isโperfect for dogs who thrive in wide spaces.
