Camas Daraich Beach
📍 Tokavaig, Highland
About This Place
Located in a bay on the very southern tip of the Isle of Skye is this gem of a beach. Sheltered by the tall craggy cliffs of the Point of Ard is Camas Daraich is as beautiful as it is remote. A small stretch of soft white sand nestles in what is otherwise a rugged coastline. With crystal clear blue water this little beach is yet another stunner of the Scottish isles. --> Perhaps the only drawback with Camas Daraich is its remoteness, and to many this may seem like a positive. The beach is about as far away from the popular spots on Skye as one can get. Forget the crowds at the Fairy Pools or Old Man of Storr, chances are you’ll have Camas Daraich to yourself. One reason for this is you are going to have to do a lot of walking to get here. The nearest parking in Sleat is the best part of an hour’s walk from here.If you’ve made the effort to visit Camas Daraich beach then you should really make your way out to the Point of Sleat. The most southerly point on Skye this headland has great views to the islands of Eigg and Rum. It’s also a good place for wildlife with porpoises and dolphins regularly sighted.
💡 Our Take
We at DogParkUK want to recommend Camas Daraich Beach. This beach is a great option for dogs, who are welcome all year round! While we don't have specific details on location or nearby facilities, the fact that there are no restrictions makes this a real hidden gem. We imagine soft sand underfoot, perfect for zoomies and exploring. Parking details are unavailable so be prepared to potentially walk a distance. Swim safety isn't known either so be aware of tides. We reckon this could be the perfect spot for confident big dogs. Always bring fresh water and ensure good recall!
