Cadgwith Cove
๐ Helston, Cornwall
About This Place
Located just around the corner from the Lizard Point (mainland Britainโs most southerly point) is the picture postcard fishing village of Cadgwith. Here, the jumble of whitewashed thatched cottages spill down the hill to a small shingle beach which doubles as a harbour. --> Like other beaches on the Lizard Peninsula the water here is clear and clean making it an ideal spot for snorkelling. There is a smaller, rock and pebble cove just on the other side of the little headland and a little further round the cliffs is the โDevilโs Frying Panโ. This is a natural blowhole where waves crashing on the rocks send sea spray high in the air.
๐ก Our Take
We at DogParkUK heartily recommend Cadgwith Cove in Cornwall! This year-round, dog-friendly beach is a real gem. While sandy, it's mixed with pebbles, so bring a sturdy ball. Parking is available nearby, but can get busy. The village has lovely pubs and shops for refreshments. The cove's sheltered waters are generally safe for swimming, but always keep an eye on your furry friend. This beach is perfect for confident swimmers but maybe not for timid puppies. Practical tip: be mindful of the fishing boats and nets! We think you and your dog will adore charming Cadgwith Cove.
