About This Place
This lovely little sandy beach is set in a sheltered inlet and is largely undeveloped. Nevertheless it is a popular spot, drawing in plenty of locals and visitors alike during the summer months. --> Backed by gently sloping dunes and with gently sloping sand Cable Bay (Porth Trecastell) is an ideal family beach. There are a few rockpools to explore at either end too. Of interest to those with archaeological tendencies is Barclodiad y Gawres burial chamber on the northern headland. Dating back to the Stone Age this large underground chamber is most impressive. There is fair-sized pay-and-display car park right behind the beach.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach with year-round access? We recommend Cable Bay in Anglesey, Wales! You can unleash your furry friend on its lovely sandy shores any time of year. Parking is available, though bring water as facilities are limited nearby. The water can be choppy, so supervise swimming carefully. Cable Bayβs wide open space and soft currents makes it great for families and dogs. For puppies or anxious dogs, try exploring the calmer rocky areas first. Watch out for slippery rocks at low tide! We think your dogs will love Cable Bay.
