About This Place

The Victorian resort of Burnham offers traditional seaside facilities and entertainments.  The resort has a short, elegant pier featuring a café and a variety of amusements. --> The continuous stretch of sand alongside the resorts of Burnham, Berrow and Brean is 7 miles long, making this one of the longest stretches of golden sand in Europe. The beach at Burnham-on-Sea is divided into 4 parts; the Main Beach, the North Beach, the South (or Jetty) Beach and the Lighthouse Area. The Main Beach is mostly sandy.  During the summer season there are organised activities and entertainments, including donkey rides which start from the jetty. Lifeguards patrol the area of the beach between the yellow and red flags from the start of May until the end of September.  Public toilets and showers are found in the nearby Tourist Information Centre.  Parking is available next to the seafront. The South Beach is composed of a mixture of sand and pebbles, giving way to marshland towards the mouth of the tidal river Parrett.  This part of the beach is a good spot for birdwatching.

💡 Our Take

Burnham-on-Sea Beach, located in Somerset, is a delightful seaside spot where dogs are welcome year-round, making it perfect for spontaneous canine adventures. The beach's soft, expansive sand is ideal for playful pups and big dogs to romp freely. Convenient parking is available nearby, ensuring easy access. While there are no specific swim restrictions, be cautious of tides and supervise dogs near the water. Anxious dogs will appreciate the lesser crowds, particularly outside peak season. Our tip: Bring fresh water for your furry friend, as facilities are minimal. DogParkUK believes this beach is a haven for joyful tail-wagging escapades!
