About This Place

This small shingle beach is tucked in between Berry Head and the Brixham Marina breakwater. There is easy level access from the car park behind the beach. --> On its day the Breakwater Beach is a pretty little cove, particularly when viewed from the breakwater with Wolborough House as a backdrop. The water here is as clean as it is clear - part of the reason the beach has been awarded a Blue Flag for the last few years.Swimming is generally safe, with care, and there are warning flags in operation. Life saving equipment is available and there is a public telephone. The calm, clear water makes the Breakwater Beach a great spot for snorkeling, or even SCUBA diving. Sealife is plentiful and you may be lucky enough to spot a seahorse. There are toilets (including disabled) just behind the beach and there is also a cafΓ©, restaurant and beach shop.If you fancy a stroll then it is well worth making the half mile walk along the breakwater to the lighthouse. From here you get a great view of all Torbay. It’s also a pretty good spot for fishing.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

We at DogParkUK highly recommend Breakwater Beach for a truly dog-friendly escape! Here in the UK, location details are limited, but the best thing is that restrictions are none, meaning your furry friend can enjoy the sand and sea all year round. We recommend checking local council for details of car parking availability, facilities and the sand type. Always keep an eye on the tides & water conditions before allowing your dog to swim. Breakwater Beach is great for dogs of all sizes and energy levels to stretch their legs. Perfect too for building confidence in water!
