About This Place

This secluded little cove on the Gower Peninsula is tucked away just to the west of Caswell Bay. Access is either by walking around the steep path from Caswell or along the valley from the village of Bishopston. --> At higher tides Brandy Cove is mostly rocks and pebbles, however, as the tide drops away a reasonable are of sand is exposed. The name comes from the days of smuggling when various contraband (such as brandy) was landed here and stowed away in the nearby caves. These caves were at one time apparently the haunt of a witch, although that could just have been a convenient cover for the smuggling activity.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Brandy Cove in Wales, while information is scarce, sounds like a proper doggy adventure! The best part? Absolutely no dog restrictions, suggesting year-round fun on the sand. While we'd love to know the sand type, the lack of restrictions implies space for zoomies. Parking and facilities nearest the cove need investigating, so plan ahead. Swim safety should always be a priority. We reckon Brandy Cove is best for confident dogs and adventurous owners willing to explore; pack water since we don't have information on nearby amenities. Always supervise your dog near the water - better safe than sorry!
