About This Place

The beach at Blue Anchor Bay consists of an impressively long stretch of sand and shingle. Generally shingle above the high tide mark, when the tide goes out an expanse of red-tinted sand is revealed. --> Much of the beach is backed by a concrete wall along which a wide pavement runs giving it something of a promenade feel. The beach at Blue Anchor is sprinkled with alabaster rocks, which are great for finding fossils. You will often see people chipping away at the rocks along the foreshore in the hope of finding a fossil fish, or maybe even an ammonite. Situated between Minehead and Watchet the Blue Anchor beach is backed by a small village of the same name.Β The West Somerset railway stops here with the beautifully preserved Blue Anchor station located just behind the beach.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Looking for a dog-friendly beach in the UK? We haven't got specific details but we believe Blue Anchor Bay is a brilliant choice if you stumble upon it. It's rumored to allow dogs year-round with no restrictions, making it fab for spontaneous seaside trips. While we don't know the sand type, it's obviously brilliant for those zoomies! On-site parking is unknown; check beforehand. Since we're without facilities and swim safety knowledge, please use caution. This beach sounds best for dogs who love unrestricted freedom. A little research is needed but it may be a hidden gem.
