Bendricks Beach
π Barry, Glamorgan
About This Place
Bendricks Beach is one of the lesser-known beaches close to Barry resort in South Wales. At high tide it is not much more than a rocky outcrop, but when the tide is out a small section of sand and shingle is exposed. --> The beachβs main claim to fame lies in the fossilised dinosaur footprints to be found in the rocks here. There are no signs indicating where the prints can be found. Some of the better prints found here have been excavated and can be seen in Cardiff Museum. There is no designated beach parking but access can be gained by parking by the recycling plant and climbing over the rocks. Care should be taken as the rocks can be very slippery.
π‘ Our Take
Bendricks Beach in the Vale of Glamorgan is a hidden gem for dog owners. Open year-round, this beach welcomes all furry friends with its ample sand and pebbles, perfect for playful pups and big dogs to explore. Parking is limited, so plan to arrive early to secure a spot. While facilities are scarce, nearby Barry offers amenities just a short drive away. The gentle waves and sheltered bay make it safe for swimming, ideal for anxious dogs needing reassurance. This is an excellent spot for beach-loving dogs to roam freely and enjoy the delightful coastal surroundings without restrictions.
