Bell Wharf Beach
π Southend on Sea, Essex
About This Place
Small sandy beach on the edge of Old Leigh with its Cockle Sheds and cobbled streets. A small fleet of fishing boats still land their catch on the wharf here. Plenty of character, but can get a little cosy as the tide comes in! --> The beach here is a mix of sand and shingle, but turns a little muddy as the tide goes out. BBQs are not allowed on the beach but there are few places to eat beyond the beachfront. Just west of the town are a couple of nature reserves.
π‘ Our Take
Bell Wharf Beach, located in quaint Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, is a year-round canine paradise with its inviting sands and ample space for pups to frolic and explore. Ideal for big dogs and energetic puppies, this beach ensures adventurous spirits can roam free. There's ample parking nearby, with facilities just a short walk away. The shallow waters are generally safe for a splash, but always keep a keen eye on stronger tides during high winds. While itβs perfect for confident swimmers, more anxious dogs might prefer sticking to the sand. For a day out in the sun, Bell Wharf is your dog's beach haven.
