Atherfield Beach
π Newport, Cornwall
About This Place
This attractive stretch of sandy beach is somewhat off the beaten track meaning you are almost guaranteed a little peace and quiet. Access is via unmaintained cliff paths which tins out the visitors even more. --> Although swimming is possible here, we arenβt going to recommend it. There are no lifeguards and Atherfield is located on the more exposed south west coast. The combination of frequent strong currents and steeply shelving beach mean caution is advised.
π‘ Our Take
Atherfield Beach in Isle of Wight is a hidden gem for dog lovers, allowing canine companions to frolic freely year-round. Its soft sandy shores provide the perfect setting for playful pups, making it ideal for energetic and large dogs. Parking is convenient, though facilities are slightly distant, so bring essentials. While the beach is generally safe, the tide can be strong, so cautious swimming is advised. This location offers vast space for anxious dogs to explore at their own pace, ensuring a thrilling yet calming experience. DogParkUK wholeheartedly recommends this beach for a paw-some day out with your furry friend!
